Spacious, stylish cottage but lacks attention to detail. Spacious cottage with a cosy living room and with great smart TV that included Netflix and Now TV. Some nice interior touches too and a good bathroom. Next to the Ship Inn, excellent food and a good pebble beach for morning and evening swimming. We are big wild swimmers so this was excellent to have so close by. Mattresses very comfortable as were sofas. Bedroom configuration did not work for our family as you needed to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the next. We don't remember this being in the description but it may have been. Outside space was small but good for a morning coffee in the sun if we could park car elsewhere, but only managed this twice. The property wasn't clean. In particular the kitchen bin, dining table, dishwasher, sink, cutlery (especially hideous) and plates and bowls were all dirty. We had to wash everything before use. Not great anytime but with Covid made worse. Clothing also left in drawers. We were told check out 9am and check in 5pm which are crazily late and early although we did manage to arrange a later checkout, which was good, with managing agents. We were told this is standard timings, which we know is not true and due to lack of cleaners for turnaround days. Property needs a tumble dryer as we had to whack heating up to dry towels/waterproofs every day and for the cost of rental would benefit from nicer touches like wooden coat hangers, salt and pepper cellars and decent cutlery. Would return to area but not this property and will always check times for arrival and departure in future before booking a cottage as this would have been a deal breaker had we known in advance. Cottage is a great base for moving along the coast. We went to Hunstanton for windsurfing, Wells for beach and pine forest walk, Cromer for crab sandwiches and crazy golf in torrential rain (!) and the Norfolk Broads for Stand Up Paddle Boarding. Our favourite places were Ship Inn, Blakeney quay, Holkam beach and pine woods, Wiverton hall for outside pizzas, Rocky Bottom for seafood and afternoon tea at Folly Tearooms in Holt. As cottage owners ourselves, we are particular and our standards are high for cleanliness and cottage equipment. The property wasn't to as high a standard as our expectations.
