Possibly the most scenic Bandstand in England? Lovely location by the riverside, there's parking, but get there early as it fills up quickly before a Band concert. There are a few benches, but bring a folding chair to be sure of a seat. There's usually a Yorkshire Dales Ice-cream van in attendance too!

Beautiful area to walk next to the river. Well maintained paths. Blue plaques with historical facts. Great photo opportunities. Highly recommended

It's very rare now you get to go to a town and park for free opposite the Band stand Brilliant start to the trip Came a little early but had a trip within the town and plenty of options for eating Town does have public toilets which is another blessing if you need to go. Wakefield Metropolitan brass band played today Due to day before of the Queen's funeral the first half performance reflected sadness and the moments of the country bringing tunes from Scotland and Wales as we unite Second half was entertaining with a tenor horn solo Crowd started to warm up after sweet Caroline rendition Very pleasant Donations welcome to keep this free music event going Bandstand sponsor was the local fish shop and I can tell you they where worth a visit and fabulous It's all about the haddock in these parts The Wetherby Whaler
