it's pretty easy to put a review up online for something or someone.. Linked-in is full of blah blah blah.. But just like a good restaurant.. when you find someone who has such a great talent.. maybe you should keep quiet..but that's not for me. I joined Ollie's recent trip to Lofoten rather late.. with just one shot I was after. I'd never really done filters and tripods and long time exposures. But Ollie made it a breeze, He had hand picked a variety of locations, pre checked then out during the day and night before. Checked the tides, the North vs South and every angle in between. Then with a frequent update on solar weather, sunset times and clear skies forecast we were off. What a truly amazing trip. not only did he do a mass of work in advance, but he ensured the places we stayed, and the roads we took were spot on. When the weather looked a little risky he ensured we were all heading in the same direction .... away from the avalanches. Score 100%, 10 out of 10.. however you describe it.. Whilst nothing is certain in life.. and we think of ourselves as being lucky.. To be lucky.. you have to be there... Right time, right place, right people. Thanks Ollie for a fabulous and memorable trip..and bringing us such great "Luck" I will be back..

I have just concluded attending a Photography workshop in Lofoten Islands. Norway and what a workshop it was !!! I had great time in it not only taking amazing photos of the Aurora and winter photography landscape but also meeting amazing people with passion to photography. The workshop was led by Ollie Taylor whom I was pleased to join one of his offered workshop earlier. The distinctive thing about Ollie, other than being a professional photographer with an amazing disposition of professional work, is that he always ensures that no matter what is your level of knowledge in photography that all of your questions will be answered. Should you need any assistance in the location, he will attend to that. Also he is very generous in sharing his knowledge which I recognize as a sign of a confident photographer and true educator. I attended a workshop, ages ago, in which the lead photographer was so cautious of sharing his knowledge because the question I asked was "related to another workshop of his !!!! I would confidently recommend to anyone attending any of Ollies workshops because the learning curve is noticeable once you leave the workshop and as one of the attendees said it on the last day as we were having our last lunch together with Ollie you will always witness the Aurora .

Ollie is not just famous for being bullied by the SNP, his work is fantastic, the very best of Scotland's scenery, not to mention an extensive portfolio of excellent work from the UK and beyond,

I have been a passionate photographer for many years, having studied and continuing it as a hobby. As a keen member of my local photography club I explore all genres. When I first had a desire to learn Astrophotography, having always been interested but intimidated by my lack of knowledge in what seemed a very complex genre, I searched on the internet and found Ollies site, originally signing up for a workshop in the Dolomites. It was the first workshop I have attended and was unsure of what to expect, but Ollie was quick and helpful to answer any questions or quieries I had about the trip. The group of around 4 photographers were kept informed in the lead up and all introduced. I cant say anything but positive remarks when it comes to the workshop, knowledge imparted and passion I have come away with. The others on the workshop were wonderful companions and Ollies knowledge, guidance, experience and teaching style were perfect. The accommodation was great and itinerary tailored to the weather was ideal. I came away not only with an amazing experience, memories, photographs and knowledge on the subject which furthered my photography and allowed me to now go out and feel confident on my own, but a deep routed passion in landscape and Astrophotography, and astronomy. Since doing this I have joined him to Iceland, and have booked onto the Tenerife 2020 workshop and plan to continue, coming away with more knowledge, passion and having had an amazing time with people I now consider friends. For some work examples from my Dolomitse and Iceland trip my Instagram is: henryfrakes.
