Waterfront Restaurant at Smiths Hotel

Very quite when we went on 13th April 2023. The menu had changed slightly and 2 meals I was debating between were no longer available, so my mind was made up for me. I chose an alternative Crispy Belly Pork and I was not disappointed, it was yummy. Waitress service top marks, very friendly and courteous. Would recommend The Waterfront to anyone, easy access, outdoor dining, dog friendly, a good all rounder!

Location excellent - right on the sea front. Service faultless, polite and prompt. A big let down was the food and price. Had the burger (at 12.30) as the fish n chips was outrageously pricey (at 16 or thereabouts). The burger tasted bland to put it mildly - complete with one slice of lettuce and a bit of a tomato. The bap disintegrated. The slaw was a couple of tablespoons worth. All lacking taste. There are takeaways very nearby selling fish n chips under 8 and burgers for just over a tenner. The two stars are on accounts of the location and service. As for the food; way below standard - one star.

Not the nicest inside (they sat us in the back because we had dogs), but the food & service was brilliant. A little over priced but good.
