Stayed 4 nights at Moorlands. Margaret was welcoming and accommodating with request for breakfast outside of normal hours. A quirky old building, mind your head as you go up the stairs! Breakfast was good and all freshly cooked, you have to pre order what you want the day before. Not given 5 stars as whilst clean, the decoration is a little dated.

A wonder welcome and exceptionally clean After a very tiring 9 hour car journey due to torrential rain following us and a blowout, my Father and I were glad to arrive. The car park has space for 4 cars and we just managed to squeeze into the final space. I was a little surprised to find out we were the only guests that night. The lady of the house was very friendly and most welcoming. She has a lovely personality and showed us to our downstairs twin en suite room with a double and a single bed. It was beautifully decorated but let down slightly by the brown furniture you see in most sale rooms, however, I am certain all this was purchased new and lovingly cared for. The bathroom with shower was also very clean, though the ceiling light didnt work, however, there was a light above the mirror and basin. This surprised us slightly as you could tell the room had been meticulously cleaned due to the new rules regarding COVID-19. I say this but after meeting the lady, I can only deduce that these are her usual standards and everyone else is catching up. It was also short of a non slip mat for the shower so I ended up using a hand towel as it was quite slippery when wet. One if the best things I found were the tea making facilities provided in the room. Not only were the offerings of a high standard, the small 2 cup kettle actually fit under the hand basin tap and was easily filled. It might be a minor point to some but so important and missed by the majority of places I have ever stayed in over the world. It is often the little things that stay in your mind and this will be a big one. There was no road noise, or any other outside noise from the surrounding area but the extractor fan in the bathroom needs attending to as it rattled every couple of minutes throughout the night. I know I have noticed a few things but this accommodation is still a lovely, family friendly place to stay for this wonderful part of the world.
