This place is wonderful. A beautiful home, with a spacious and light communal area, garden, pets and superb staff who are loving, kind and genuinely warm in the way the interact - it was a joy to see my aunt so well looked after. They chatted, cuddled, laughed and joked and sang and danced with her. She adored them. There is regular entertainment brought in, plus lunches and parties that relatives can attend (children are encouraged to visit and mine loved them). There are salon services and fun (and amazingly varied) trips out where they take photos to display for the residents. Even behind the scenes, the admin team were so helpful, always friendly and amazingly supportive when I was new to the payment side of things plus going through the process of becoming financial guardian... it was incredibly stressful and they did all they could to make it smooth and stress free. When my aunt was dying, all of the staff were so kind and compassionate to her AND me, it made me very emotional. They were supportive and helpful, without being intrusive. But I got hugs when I needed them! The staff were genuinely sad that she was so ill and their emotion moved me. They were so good to me after she died. On the day of her funeral the staff who could lined the street as we detoured past the home. They gave us flowers and their grief, tears and love were palpable. It tore me up but I'll never forget it. They gave my aunt the send off she deserved and I thank them for that. I have no doubt that she was in the right, and perfect, place for her last years living with Lewy Body Dementia. Thank you to all at Fig for your fabulous service and care. I am eternally grateful.
