We hired a lot of machinery from Martello from the start to the end of 2020. We settled our final bill and all was well. Over a year later, after Martello had changed hands, we received a late payment notice north of 1,000. To this point I hadnt received any other correspondence. All they could show me was an incorrect contract that was partially set up in my name and not my companies. By partially, I mean it wasnt signed or dated by me at all, nor anyone for that matter! They also failed to show me an accurate hire slip, again with no name or date and a signature that we do not recognise. To avoid personal legal action against me, I have settled the outstanding bill, and have asked for further evidence. I will then pursue them as necessary. Be very careful using the new company, they arent who they were. We will use another local company next time.
