I don't often leave reviews but I wanted to in this case. I have rarely experienced the quality of workmanship that characterised this project (a century old building which has required repointing) The work was professional, thorough and undertaken with meticulous attention to detail. I have nothing but the highest praise for Mortar Point Brickwork.

I contacted Max during the buying process for a house to provide a rough quote to address problems picked up by our building survey. It was a Victorian semi with brickwork in poor condition, and lime mortar that had been covered up with modern cement. Damp had also been picked up by our survey. He then visited after we had completed the purchase to firm up the quote. He was very useful at this stage to make sure the other work we were doing was suitable for the age of the house and answered a lot of questions I had about how to resolve the damp issues and restore the house. After reading good reviews and seeing first hand the knowledge that he had, we went with Mortarpoint. We had to wait a while before Max was available as he was so busy which we took as a good sign. Communication was very good as we got close to the start date so I knew when this was likely to be. The whole house needed repointing, and the chimney needed extensive repair. All the work was done to a very high standard and both Max and James were friendly, polite and reliable throughout. They also tidied up at the end of each day and were considerate of the neighbours. The job was more challenging than expected as the condition was quite bad and there were several problems that were found along the way such missing lintels above the windows, and lead flashing not bonded into the brickwork. All these problems were sorted by Max as he went along. He even helped put up some bird boxes and security cameras for us. Max really knows his stuff is and provided a lot of advice on other building work we was having done which was invaluable to me. Our brickwork and chimney now look great, and we can be confident that the house is weatherproof and much stronger. I would not hesitate to recommend Mortarpoint and will use them again if I need work in the future, the work was outstanding.

Brickwork on our late-Victorian semi needed a good clean and repointing. For us, this was the most important job for the house, so we needed the best. We werent disappointed. The brickwork looks like new and the pointing, applied using traditional materials and methods, is phenomenal. As well as an incredible finish, the work was carried out with respect for us and our neighbours. Nothing was too much trouble. Max ensured that everything was perfect and exactly how we wanted it. If you want a job done properly and to the highest standard, Id recommend Mortar Point Brickwork. 10/10
