It is a lovely home but sadly care there was not what I had hoped it would be. We found the level of Care to be poor. The three months my husband was there was the most distressing time of our lives. I would not recommend this care home.

Not enough entertainment going on .....residents are sometimes left alone ??.. not brilliant food & I have only seen tea or coffee for hot drinks ??.. management could improve things here. I know as I worked in the industry. Not much talking going on nor many smiles ??. WAKE UP WATERSMEAD

I visit the home on a professional basis, roughly every 2 weeks, and am privileged to see behind the scenes. The carers work incredibly hard to provide a person centred approach to each of the, up to, 50 residents. There are always smiles on their faces, even when they are physically and mentally exhausted. There is always food and drink available, in all of the common areas, for anyone to help themselves. The meals provided look, and smell, delicious and there is plenty of choice. I particularly liked to see the pudding trolley going round, like in a restaurant, so people can see what their options are and have how ever much they would like. I personally don't know how they choose! Residents have the option to hold keys and keep their rooms locked, and I have observed all staff knock and wait to be invited in before they enter, thus maintaining privacy. It was great to see one of the ladies rallying the troupes for a card game when I visited recently. I personally consider the residents there to be safe and well cared for, and I would happily place a family member there. It is somewhere I look forward to making the 5 hour round trip to.
