Holy Trinity in Worthen is a large medieval church, with the tower dating from the 12th century as the oldest section. Inside the church are intricately carved box pews, several highly detailed stained glass windows and some old paintings on the wall uncovered during replastering work. The original chancel was most likely demolished during the Dissolution but a new one was built in the 17th or 18th century. Whilst the styles are distinct, the changes isn't too jarring. The octagonal font, rather amusingly, has a heptagonal lid. This, and the impressive roof timbers among other features gives the church a very unique character. The church is open daily between 10am and 4pm. The church keepers themselves are very friendly and knowledgeable.
