Patient Transport transferred a patient back home at 5am in the morning from hospital only to meet a bed that has not been made all day and an untidy room. No members. of staff present. Staff member LATIFF was found asleep in the gym and was totally unprofessional. we had no assistance in finding the patients room or being able to hand over the patient sufficient. Their behaviour is totally unacceptable.

My parent was sent there to recover her mobility after hospital kept her on bed all the time and not letting her move even though she was mobile. She was transferred for rehab to recover instead they made her complete bed ridden and sent her home with full hoist and ruined her life and mine too. No choice of food. Male staff doing personal care alone with closed door even though female staff was requested. This review is for Athlone Rehab centre.

I was sent to Athlone House after having both legs amputated to strengthen my upper body,e.g arm muscles and back. The care I received was absolutely excellent and the food was quite good also the Doctors and nurses were excellent and very attentive and obliging. When I arrived home I had a hoist waiting for me but I didn,t need it and sent it back to Medicare as when I was at the rehab hospital they taught me to use a sliding board and sliding sheet to transfer in and out of bed into my wheelchair, the service I received was absolutely brilliant,a very big thank you to you all and keep up the brilliant work.

After a bad fall when my mum who is 87 fractured her neck and she was moved to Athlone for rehabilitation where she spent 9 weeks. We were at first reluctant when suggested by the hospital as Athlone was far away from our home as well as having read some reviews. I am happy to say we were pleasantly surprised. My mum had tremendous support from ALL the staff who cared for her in a very caring and compassionate manner. The Rehab Unit always seemed to have at least one doctor on sight and a couple of physios who assisted her to regain her confidence. Mum had a collar on her neck 24/7 and the specialist staff helped her change it every other day. Difficult to single out any one member of staff as they were all superb. During the prolonged stay the family members also got to know the staff and they could not have done any more for us. Thank you ALL
