Lovely friendly place to stay..but as quoted on there Web site the rooms at the front of the building do hear a lot of traffic..so next time I stay I would book a room at the back. Food & drinks: Good food and drink reasonable priced

I have two requests when using hotels for work, quiet and a nice shower. I booked a room for 2 nights at The Shoe, Plaitford. As with all my bookings I request a quiet room. I was advised that the room was " front facing and I may experience some traffic noise " nothing could have prepared me for what I experienced. Cars and trucks thundering past all night long, the walls, floors and windows shook. I didn't sleep a wink. I left very, very early in the morning, hoping I could sleep for a few hours in my car before starting a 12 hour shift as a nurse. I called the management to explain that I hadn't slept and requested a refund for the 2nd night as I wasn't going to stay. She point blank refused and was very rude. When I asked if she'd like me to be caring for her loved one after having no sleep, she accused me of threatening her. I will not be refunded for any of my stay, which I think is totally unacceptable. This woman doesn't deserve to run a business, she has no people skills. They wouldn't even allow me to have a few cornflakes and a coffee half an hour earlier than their scheduled breakfast times due to my early start. If I could give future travellers advice, it would be, DON'T stay here. Find somewhere else. This is the worst night I have ever had in a hotel.
