Filling up with fuel, I needed to pay with cash to get the money back from the firm I work for. I used the machine in the petrol station which charged 1.99 per withdrawal . When I paid, one of the notes had a corner missing, so the cashier refused to take it, even though the serial number was intact. He instructed me to take time out of my day to take the note to a bank. Funny, no problem with the shop along the road, bought the food I would have bought in the garage. P.S. imagine not having a spare tenner, and either paying another 1.99 to take it out, even going overdrawn because of a missing corner of a note.
