Had burger and chips with a starter of sweetcorn fritters. All of the food was slightly overcooked, so it was all pretty crispy and hard. It tasted nice tho. The ice cream wasn't very sweet however, had a strange bitterness or sourness to it. Service-wise, I requested twice for someone to wipe our table down and they never did, it was covered in crumbs and sticky patches. One of the plates was delivered with sauce on the bottom too. We waited 30 mins for our desserts, and when we asked where they were, we were told it had just been left on a side in the kitchen and they'd forgotten to bring it to us. Honestly, it all just sounds like there's a lack of communication amongst the staff. One of the waitresses was very visibly unhappy too, and walked around frowning and rolling her eyes. Not the best customer service rep, really. Regardless of the poor service, the food was decent and the spot is really nice. I'd still choose it over the burger king next door, but it's not the best.

Ordered 2x cheesy chips and they tast like they have been cooked a while and just reheated. It's abit worrying they can't get a simple thing as chips correct.

Went end of march and was very pleased with everything, Mash and Barrels can be a hit and miss but this one was good. Staff were pleasant and the food was great, especially the afters, we had breakfasts, lunches and dinners, from fish and chips to burgers to pasta, it was all very nice. Prices are reasonable and what youd expect.
