Bran's Estate - a residence at the heart of Mersea

Really not a good experience. Cob webs in the bedrooms, our room at the back was an odd mix of 2 large sofas, no wardrobe and only one hook to hang our clothes on. The curtains next to useless in terms of blocking out light. The front 2 bedrooms were slightly better. The whole property is unfortunately run-down and in need of tlc, wallpaper pealing off, tired flooring arm chairs with flattend cushioning, bathroom shelf so wonky everything slips off, wallpaper that was lifting or untrimmed, towels like sandpaper etc etc. Basic accommodation is perfectly fine so long as it's in good condition, sadly this was not. Location was good for the pleasant village amenities and just a few minutes walk from the beach
