No need to buy tickets. Just push though the gates or jump the barriers. Three "security" personnel on and all they do is shout buy a ticket. Or in one case "Oi", he even then watched the guy get on the replacement bus service. What is their job? 3 of them stand around chatting and then when they are needed they do nothing. A waste of money. Just leave the gates open.

Tried to buy weekend return tickets to London on Saturday but was told (by a rather rude, impatient employee) that only day tickets were available. Much more expensive and no explanation given. Not the service expected.

Never enough staff, ticket machines always broken and the queue always out the door.

A nice quiet station, easily to remember by the art on the walls and fence. Leigh-on-sea is a very nice place to visit, which I recommend.
