My mum has had the most brilliant care in the Dale's for nearly 6 years and the staff are the best Ive ever met in any care home I've visited. Nothing too much trouble for them and they have built up a beautiful relationship with my mum and are really fond of her . Visit and chat to the staff please, if you are thinking of this homefor a loved one

My aunt has been residing at the Dales for four months now and I have no hesitation in recommending this nursing home to anyone considering The Dales for their loved ones. Any business is only as good as its staff and this is primarily why the Dales excels. The staff are so friendly and willing to help and explain things. They always make time for their guests and create a lovely warm atmosphere where nothing is too much trouble. I saw at first hand how the staff looked after my aunt who was unwell and confused when she first arrived. They took time to be with her and comfort her and to explain things. They were excellent and gained my aunt's trust in a very professional and caring and friendly way. I hope that our experience helps the reader to feel their way through what is a difficult time when caring for loved ones.

One star given as I am unable to leave a minus number!!! Shocking behaviour for a place that is expected to care for older people. Some staff are great, friendly and treat the residents with dignity, but more are shocking, and treat residents worse than dogs! My uncle stayed there for just three weeks, and his treatment was sadly lacking in basic care; the home was unable to administer his Parkinson medication adequately, and sometimes two hours late to give medication which leaves him unable to speak and unable to move! So alternative accommodation was found, and as he was frightened of some staff, he gave only one day notice. Unhappy with this, on the day of his departure, he was dressed by staff with a thermal vest under his shirt (never before having been dressed into a vest by the home) on one of the hottest days of the year (6/7/2018 with temperatures reaching 30 degrees) and no socks under heavy leather shoes, causing rubbing on his feet. When he asked about his socks, he was told there were none clean, although when relatives packed up his clothes, there were plenty in the drawer. Spiteful and nasty staff, who treat residents with no dignity. Keep away if you love your older person!!!
