        The course is well designed and usually a good enjoyable test of golf but currently it is poorly maintained.

        Hoylake Golf Course is a James Braid design course. What should be an excellent test of course is totally spoiled by a lack of maintenance, management and unmotivated, poorly trained greens staff. There is now hope for the future A consortium of local experts are hoping to take over the running of the golf course.

        The course is now on its best condition for some time but unfortunately because of central government cuts and local government incompetence it is due to close from 1st April.
