Following covid I developed long covid. 6 months later, with medication for symptoms from my GP and a recovery course from my Phyisio I had made improvements but was still unable to train properly due to continued chest pain and exhaustion following excercise. My heart and lungs were knackared. After another couple of months and no further recovery, I went to see Jackie. My wife was seeing her but I was very sceptical of the actual "needles" thing. Jackie is one of those amazing individuals who just "gets you". Your mind set, your physical issues and the connections. A detailed "life story" just spilled out of me as if catching up with an old friend. I was apprehensive about the needles but out of about 40-50 I felt a tiny twinge from just one! After. this 1stI session Iwas able to swim and gently run /bike without exhaustion or the ever present chest pain afterwards. My 2nd session I improved again. My 3rd session was my last with Jackie. My body had responded better than I had hoped. I returned to training, slowly and was able to build to the point where I completed my 1st triathlon in 2 years, a 1/2 mile sea swim, a 14 mile eyeballs out bike and 3.5 mile trail/beach run finishing in the top 40%. Next season I will be back with longer races.r More than this though I have my self belief back even more than before . Top job Jackie , thankyou doesn't feel enough.
