We had several meetings before the wedding day. The staff are lovely and it was clear they could accommodate any request. Id also seen a lot of their work so was confident the day would be perfect. The reason I have not given 5 stars is for a couple of different reasons.
Firstly, some of the communication was a little bit messy. We got sent a full invoice a year before our wedding and then a payment reminder despite us not having even fully decided on everything we wanted. This was of course an error and the email was sent a year early by mistake so we did not have to pay until the actual date but still, not great.
A few weeks before the wedding I also wanted to confirm a few details and sent several emails with no reply. I later found out it was due to staff shortages from illness however a small holding reply would have calmed my nerves.
The staff shortage leads me on to what I believe is to possibly to blame for the next and biggest issue that was our florals and decorations on the day were not exactly as we had ordered.
My bouquet was a slightly different shape/size than what we had discussed. This was only minor though. There were only 2 different reference images on the order form however this was of course alongside several long meetings where we discussed everything in detail and I showed lots of pictures. The bigger concern was the colours used.
The request was for a mostly white bridal bouquet with hints of pale pink/cream plus greenery for a classic yet modern/contemporary feel. The decorations/backdrop etc were to copy my bouquet. The bridesmaids were to be similar just with a touch more pink to complement their dresses. Whether it was my bouquet, bridesmaids or decorations, white was supposed to be the overriding theme and the addition of the coloured flowers was supposed to be small and subtle. However, the white was either minimal or 50:50 throughout the bouquets and there was also a lot of dark/peachy pink in my bouquet which gave it a very vintage feel and didnt suit me at all. These colours were then used throughout the ceremony decoration. It was a real shame as I did not end up using my bouquet in any of my pictures and made a lot of pictures unusable where any flowers were photographed.
In addition there were very specific requests for the aisle decoration including sashes tied diagonally with flowers on the outer edge of the chairs. The order form said to see an image for the exact look to copy, which featured all white flowers and dark greenery (this was to tie in with the standard decorations the venue already had) but the sashes were tied straight down and the flowers were mostly darker/orange pink with pale greenery. The only deviation from the picture was to add a single sprig of pampas. Not only was there a lot of pampas but it was also not white. It was a dark brown and not very fluffy at all. The whole thing did not look like it gelled together.
There was also a picture of some chiffon draping for the end of the aisle (taken from another wedding at the same venue so we knew it could be done) on the order form to copy exactly but it was not hung the same. It had been hung as a frame to the end of the aisle backdrop which was not what the reference picture showed.
When I approached the ceremony tent on the day, I actually had to pull back and give myself a moment because I could see so many things were not as expected. Whilst the day is not just about what the venue looks like, different elements have different significance for everyone and for us, florals were a big part. Especially after spending thousands of pounds and several years planning all the small details, it was very disappointing to have so many things not as visioned/requested.
I tried not to overthink it on the day but since reflecting on it for several months, and going back over our pictures, I felt the need to say something.

The bouquets, buttonholes and hair flowers were perfect and the arch, serviettes and table runners with candles & herb pots were just exquisite. Our herbaceous haven was complemented by all!
