My mother is in here following discharge from hospital where she had been suffering from Covid pneumonia, the phone is never answered and the system for booking a visit is totally unfit for purpose..

What a lovely feel to this home .... my husband Dave had a problem initially but this was because of his anxiety, however the staff were lovely and he soon settled down and enjoyed his stay ... he's looking forward to his next respite stay a 1000%

What a fantastic Carehome Millfield is, in fact my mother-in-law ( Betty) thought at times she was in a social club she enjoyed herself that much! The staff on Pilsworth Wing are wonderful, and genuinely caring and loving, doing what must be a difficult job with great skill and attention. Betty once broke her arm in a fall but they accompanied her to and from the hospital, and when she later went into hospital with a stroke all the staff went to visit her. Betty had lived alone for thirty years and really wasn't in a good place, but within weeks of being in Millfield she turned a corner and went from strength to strength with the help and encouragement and interaction of the staff. Everything is on a personal level and everyone on first name terms. They even had a trip out to Blackpool. Betty died age 91 from a stroke whilst in Fairfield Hospital and I know she will be missed and I know Betty will miss them. She lived there for 11 months and called it her second home.

Having visited today I'm disturbed at the lack of security at the entrance. The lack of staffing at the front door. The safety standards having found panic alarms with their cords wound around the units to prevent use. The lack of proper medical equipment for patients. Staff milling around the nursing station on phones while patients sat around aimlessly. The standard of care is shocking. Simple training in customer care and health training is severely lacking. I wouldnt put my pet dog in this home.
