    I would like to write a complaint... A few weeks ago there was a storm and so much rain that our ceiling started to leak quite a bit. We contacted Starlane about 20 times trying to get the insurance sorted and organised, sending photos, quotes etc.. People were terrible at getting back to us and I am shocked with the lack of support. Starlane has now said that since the storm was not over 60mph, we would not be able to claim the insurance, even though our quote from a roofer states it was the storm that caused it. This is disgusting. This is the first time we have claimed anything and I just can't believe the experience we've had. We had terrible rain a few weeks ago and our roof has been fine for 4 years, until that week when the rain came down hard. How do you explain that? I am disgusted that they have this excuse as to why we cannot claim. A roof is expensive to fix and I am just so shocked that you are not helping us at all with the excuse that the rain wasn't heavy enough. IT WAS HEAVY ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE LEAK. We now have someone coming in tomorrow to fix the roof, as we cannot wait any longer, and you have been terrible at getting back to us from the start. Thank you for not helping and for making us take from our very little savings to fix the roof. We will not be continuing with you. Ricky & Becca

    My partner was the executor for his late mothers estate and had overlooked the fact that the house insurance renewal date had just passed. He wanted to obtain an alternative quote on renewal to see how competitive the existing policy was and thought that perhaps he had missed the boat. Steve French firstly assured him that he was well within the period where he could give notice to the existing insurer which was Barclays and that he could tell them they could see the certificate of insurance if necessary and that he would be entitled for the payment which had just been taken to be returned. He also pointed out that because the policy was a blanket cover policy issued by Barclays which apparently is very common it meant that the amount insured for rebuilding purposes was more than was required. Steve therefore provided his quotation based on what was actually required for the property as opposed to a one size fits all blanket policy which was costing more than was required. In short, he saved money because of his attention to detail and expert knowledge. Lastly and importantly the speed of service was outstanding both from Steve and his colleagues! We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Steve and Starlane Insurance to anyone who is looking for competitive pricing, outstanding service and expert insurance knowledge.
