GP direct offers amazing service. Whenever I needed their help I got an appointment very quickly, in a day or two. I love the fact you can sort out majority of things online and if necessary they will just call you back. I had only positive experience with staff I spoke to. The surgery is always clean and well maintained.

I recently moved to GpDirect and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. They took the time to listen to my concerns and didn't skip over any problems. Their expertise and insight were invaluable in helping me to better understand my health concerns. Apalling service !!!! I recently contacted the surgery to get an appointment to get my daughter's vaccinations for an emergency trip to see family overseas. When I called the surgery last week, the receptionist had a very indifferent attitude to my situation as I explained to her that we needed to get the vaccinations at least 8 weeks in advance and we are due to travel at the end of April. The earliest appointment that she could offer me just to have a consultation with the nurse was in 2 weeks time ( and that is just the consultation ), by the time we actually get an appointment for the vaccination , we may already be ready to leave. She didn't want to offer me an earlier appointment just to have a 5 min conversation to check their records. The Receptionist honestly didn't care and just wanted to get rid of me instead of actually trying to talk to her supervisor to see how they could actually help me. Nevertheless I left a request on PATCHS as well on Wed last week and I get a call based on that today !!! I get told that she needs to get vaccinated and I must call Reception to book an appointment. Do the staff actually check their records and see what appointments have been booked ? Calling Reception to book an appointment is a traumatic experience as you have to wait anything from 30 min to hour and only to then get told " You have to use the PATCHS system ". Can they actually have some common sense and try and help patients even when the doctors specifically ask patients to call reception ? Nevermind that patients have had to wait a long time to speak to a human being. In my past experience, the Receptionists are the worst, they are rude, indifferent and unhelpful. The doctors seem to be hiding behind their admin staff and don't really want to get involved to try and help patients. Thanks to the delayed response of the surgery I am looking at having to get her vaccinated privately, which will cost me a few hundred pounds and also having to postpone my flights. another few hundred pounds. I wish that the surgery could try and understand that not all of us earn doctor's salaries to absorb these costs. Avoid at all costs !! I have written to the surgery and am waiting for a response from them ( if I ever do receive a professional response rather than a glib reply saying please book an appointment with our PATCHS system ).
