Not impressed at all. One particular doctor needs to have a serious attitude check. So not impressed that we will be changing to Mendip Vale doctors

Extremely frustrating experience trying to get access to medical care for my 13 year old today - who is in pain with an ear infection and who needs antibiotics. Phoned 11:45 - told all morning appointments have been used and afternoon ones not released until midday - advised to call back a few minutes before midday. Phoned back 11:57 - advised afternoon appointments not released yet and to call at midday. Phoned at 12:00 - on hold for 12 minutes (phone lines busy with all of the other patients who have been asked to call back at that minute of the day) - and when I got through told that all afternoon appointments have now gone. Perverse, unsafe way to manage access to appointments. There are far better ways to do this which do not result in time wasted for patients and reception staff, needless frustration being generated for patients (which the poor reception staff have to manage) and a random allocation of appointments to those who happen to connect to the surgery milliseconds before unlucky others rather than triaging the demand coming into the surgery and allocating resources in a considered prioritised way. Very poor system. Have experienced exactly the same scenario on previous occasions (pre-Covid) so not post-pandemic phenomenon.
