I haven't been in this pub since it was Winters or was it Olivers or Clanceys? I've lost track of the names as it's had that many changes over the years. Still it's basically the same small local boozer that caters to an older crowd than the nearby Joiners Arms which as I've said elsewhere is a big noisy young person's sports bar full of men with a female name tattooed on their neck in Scrolly script and women displaying acres of tattooed arms, backs and even decolletage. I expect the Police like all the Finchley low-lifes gathered together in one place as it's easier to keep an eye on them or scoop up the wanted felons. The decor inside Annie Twomey's is a regulation Oirish Pub straight out of the box, with road signs and advertising breweriana on the walls, nothing appears to be more than a couple of years old but I could be wrong about a few of the enamel signs. It's probably cost a bit to decorate and it's charming in a naive way. Just needs a green Eire phone-box to put the proverbial cherry on the cake! I quite like it.

Really nice atmosphere, eclectic mix of ages and cultures and really efficient staff. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening as it was the first time I went there and I was treated like a regular.
