Working at Met so far has been one of the most challenging experiences of my life. I was impressed by the detail and scope of the training course where you are taught the knowledge and skills needed to prepare you for the live markets by experienced traders. Once becoming competent in Met's strategy, I was given the opportunity to trade the live markets within only a couple of months. It's tough but the working environment is great and there's a real sense of camaraderie among the junior traders. I know that it will take time, dedication and a lot of hard work, but my future as a trader is now in my hands and I am excited at the prospect of a career here with Met.

Working at Met Traders will provide the perfect environment for aspiring Traders. I have been trading live for over 6 months and have acquired so much market and execution related knowledge that I would not have picked up anywhere else. I am fairly certain of this. The opportunities and rewards at Met Traders are abundant but it does require much graft and hardwork. The key is to listen carefully to the Head of Graduate Training and his assistant, eliminate silly mistakes and drive the process yourself as this is essentially your career at the end of the day. The infrastructure at Met is very good and the support is also always available. The Head of Graduate Training is firm but very supportive as he is interested in the development of the Traders and will provide whatever advice or guidance you need. It also helps that he is a successful trader and has been through the same process. There are many other successful traders at Met and this in itself is an inspiration to make it here.

Having initially completed the intense 2 month course I have found live trading at Met challenging but at the same time increasingly rewarding. An advantage of completing the course is gaining a broad understanding of the financial industry which is tailored to meet the current economic climate; in addition to thoroughly learning the firms futures trading strategy. The best part of working within the domain of this unique strategy is that you are free to share ideas and gain a greater understanding from those around you who are more experienced. Whilst at the same time, the role allows you to be competitive and work towards measurable career targets. Be under no false pretence; the role is demanding and requires a large amount of patience and dedication, but the opportunities at Met over time will be greater than the vast majority of other institutions.

Met trader has provided me with the most exciting and challenging experience. Their course material is very concise and is tailored to prepare trainees for actual trading quickly. The mentors and senior traders are very helpful and approachable continuously working towards making better day by day of course conditional on my interest and efforts.Overall atmosphere and culture is great here and really good for aspiring traders.

One of the 3 Directors famously said I do not care if these graduates make money, I just want them to do round trips (a term meaning trading in and out of a position). The business model is one that incorporates a profit even when employed traders are not making money. Commissions paid by traders incorporate a profit for the company. The trade costs 2.40 and 90p of that cost is the company's fee. They push you to trade as much as possible and they make money through your trades as long as you are breaking even. As a graduate you are wasting your time working in an environment where your interests are not aligned with your employers. The company moved into this strategy after the original Euribor strategy that made the directors millions became less profitable in a static european interest rate market.
