Warm welcome; good ambience; good olfactory stimulation with aroma of Indian food but disappointed taste buds.. Good chaat; main course was tasteless , naan roti disappointed .. kulfi dessert was good.. not bad on pocket at all.. Worth a try but dont expect much as far as vegetarian food taste buds would expect..

I admit it, I don't go to Indian restaurants too often. But I'm so glad I went to Tamarind on my holiday to London. My dinner experience was simply superb. Tucked between the quiet streets in Mayfair, Tamarind is a beautiful space. The food looked great and tasted even better. I started with the baked samosa. The inventive and fun cones stuffed with vegetables were light and crunchy. I continued with half portion of finger licking coconut and chili seabass followed by tandoori paneer tika. The fish was cooked perfectly and I loved the sauce. The paneer tika (which I tried for the first time) was cheesy without being dry. I really liked the option of ordering half portions of many of the dishes on the menu as it gave me the option to create my own mini tasting menu. Finally, I finished the meal with Safed Murgh. Since I'm not a fan of very spiced dished, for me, the heat on this one was just perfect. Juicy chunks of chicken smothered in creamy cashew and yogurt sauce paired with naan bread was incredibly satisfyingly. I scraped the dish clean! The service was very attentive.
