Mixed experience at Jamavar. Went here for a team dinner. The doorman and the entrance staff were quite helpful. After a bit of deliberation, we all decided to go for the tasting menu and ordered a few bottles of wine. This is where the experience went south. The staff didn't make a good note of what was ordered by individuals, and as the courses came, there were multiple instances where dishes ordered by particular individual were served on the other end of the table which led to a decent amount of confusion and stuff getting passed around. Was quite surprised to see such as basic miss, and there was no apology or acknowledgement, neither was there any improvement on this as subsequent courses got served. Additionally, I had indicated to my waiter not to pour me wine, but for some reason, he didn't register it and I was poured a glass, which I had to leave (wasted good wine). We had a six course meal, and there was no explanation whatsoever of what was the story behind each dish. To be fair, the food was good, but I wouldn't rave about it. Overall, I've had better Michelin star experiences and Jamavar was a let down. The staff serves with a smile, however the attention to detail in service is lacking. When you spend 150 GBP a person for a large group, a high standard of service and pride in the product itself are expected. Will give Jamavar a wide berth for some time now.
