Extortionate and exploitative. I popped in to buy a birthday bouquet at the last minute but only when later showing friends what Id bought and for how much, did I realise quite how much of a mug Id been. Ive never bought flowers from an independent florists before, so didnt really know what I was doing. Seems they saw me coming and I got thoroughly ripped off. The staff showed me a bouquet and told me it was 80. As it was obvious I was out of my depth, they offered to make something up for 35. I guess I was too embarrassed to leave so its on me. But I was later told that 7 flower stems with some cursory foliage for 35 was daylight robbery. Yep. Thats a fiver a flower. Perhaps Im naive. They lasted 3 days in a vase. So obviously werent fresh either. Rinsed.
