Everything from start to finish was incredible. The service was top notch. The food was to die for. The prices (while high) were more than reasonable for a Michelin rated restaurant. My brother and I had the chilled Vodka (amazing), the smoked salmon (good), the seafood dumplings (superb), the beef Wellington for two (top notch), and the lobster macaroni and cheese (must have). We shared a bottle of champagne and enjoyed the flaming creme brle for dessert. For a special occasion, Bob Bob Ricard absolutely hit the spot and I would dine here again in a heartbeat.

Oh, Bob Bob Ricard in Soho, where unsuspecting diners seeking a French culinary experience as suggested on Google Places are instead treated to a curious mix of Russian and British flavors. It's a place where the restaurant's 4.5 stars seem to be inspired by the charming ambiance and mystique, rather than the gastronomic delights one might expect from a French establishment. Walking into the restaurant, you'll find the design is quiet pleasant. The menu, on the other hand, presents a baffling blend that leaves diners wondering if the culinary borders of France, Great Britain and Russia had been redrawn overnight. "Imperial Caviar" (a "sustainable, ethical and chewy caviar?) and tartar dishes coexist with Beef Wellington and Vareniki, while mashed potatoes and truffle make repeat appearances like a culinary gatecrasher. Our meal consisted of Salmon Tartare, Steak Tartare, and Vareniki filled with mashed potato and truffles, and Beef Wellington for the main course. While each dish was technically adequate, they lacked the boldness and excitement one might hope for in a highly-rated restaurant. Instead, they were more akin to a humdrum dinner party conversation you'd politely endure. The Rioja Reserve and strawberry souffl were agreeable companions to our meal, but they too failed to leave a lasting impression. After settling the bill a cool 290 before tip we were left pondering whether we were paying for the agreeable atmosphere and exceptional service rather than the food itself. Ultimately, Bob Bob Ricard earns 5 stars for design and service, 4 for food, and a modest 3 for value. It's a place where you'll leave with your wallet lighter and your taste buds yearning for more excitement.
