This was more of a temporary halt for me after my van broke down just outside the site. A lady approached me asked if I was okay and if I needed anything, and was most helpful. Made me a brew, and allowed me use their WiFi to contact a recovery team as signal isn't to great in the valley. So THANKYOU FOR SAVING ME The place was very peaceful and looked incredible even in autumn. And now goes on my list of potential places to stay if I ever venture down for a holiday.

We found the narrow lanes very scary until we found the way in and out via West Down...this needs to be HIGHLIGHTED. Also, warning needs to be HIGHLIGHTED that there several steps to accomodation. My sister could not come on holiday in fear of all the steps. Dont recall seeing mention that it would cause difficulties for the disabled. No easily accessible local ammenties but that is not Lake View's fault, just be aware. Fishing is hard, too many small fish. Despite above, Lake View was very warm, comfortable, peaceful and quiet

We booked this cottage for four adults, but it is not really suitable for four adults. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and another with two singles The room with two singles is very small, barely big enough for two single beds and very sparse. There is one bedside cabinet which is not by either bed, one table lamp barely brighter than a candle and nothing else. Nowhere for a suitcase or clothes. As we were there for a week that was a real pain. The beds were comfortable but the room was not. The rest of the cottage was clean and tidy, although only enough seating for three people in the lounge. The staircase is very steep and not really suitable for anyone with mobility problems. All in all, not bad for a short stay of a couple of nights and for maybe a family of two adults and two small children. But not for four adults for a week or more. There are extensive grounds outside with a lake with fishing, children's playing area and picnic areas.
