[N-Word using *white* bar staff and Inappropriate Explicit Conversation] read below: Revisits after not visiting for a few years. (since it's new ownership, as it used to be a very good, Indian restaurant and Bar) I'd been stopping by pretty regular recently, quick pint stop on the way home or back from the local town's near by. 3.70 a Coors and pretty good music, nothing I don't enjoy. Usually has quite the few locals, any time I'm in. The new manager, no fault of his own, is always an incredible host and really has vived up the place to something rather nice of a scene, they're who has usually been of service when I've been there. But today, 27/03/2023, when I stopped by I was more than disgusted and shan't be returning ever again. The Barmaid on service had 2 friends sat at the bar, who were in constant, very loud and confident conversation amongst themselves. 1 of those friends being a boy that serves behind the bar, who had all of this to say. As I've sat down with my pint mid-afternoon, there's a few older white men, a man of Asian decent, and myself... The boy, who is white and blonde haired, had been on a long tanjent of parading insults and explicit conversation to the 2 women they were sat with, and working, which the whole pub had to listen to. Proceeds to carry his conversation onto how he's "not even gay, but bisexual" after the slur had been used, and then CONTINUED somehow onto Black people, just like that, out of nowhere! "why do black people call themselves black when they're brown" and just a bunch of other out-landish comments, which he must've felt safe saying as they took a look around the pub waiting for a reaction, possibly from a black person or anyone not white, to say something. But then starts saying, "I can say the N word" "idgaf I'll say it" and stutters of that thought brewing for a minute, until he starts shouting! "N**** Black! N- Black" (with extremely excited emphasis!) and continued, even dragging another white man that had just exited the toilets into the horrific conversation asking "isn't that a crayon colour though!? N**** Black!!" and the guy just went "yep..". But then proceeded into "well aren't whomever brown" (referring to specifically South-Asian complextion), again, exiting the toilet now was the man of Asian decent, being pointed at by this boy and demanded "what are you!?" to which the man responds, stunned, "What are YOU? And the boy goes "I'M WHITE! but what are you!?" like some tirade to point out others ethnicities. After all this is when the barmaid was like" oh alright guys like stop it now" to her friends. Not to mention, when I came out the toilet myself, I was also being spoken about and referred to as "that lady", which the boy moved around the bar to look at me when I came out of the restroom myself. The irony is, I'm mixed, BLACK and white Caribbean! Completely stunned, horrific what I had to hear. This was my worst experience in a pub, ever! I felt EXTREMELY uncomfortable, could hear a pin drop, deeply regret coming her. I struggled to hide my disgust and quickly left after my first pint. The entire conversation was awful start to finish, it seemed a few others didn't like and had swiftly left too as it was looking quiet when I did. Being a "minority" doesn't excuse this behaviour, as I'm also gay. Amen.
