However, unfortunately we recently had to withdraw my baby from this nursery. My son got sent home due to him having a rash which he is prone to. However we were told by management it may develop into chicken pox & that he was not allowed to attend the nursery until he had been seen by a GP. When we did see a GP he simply laughed and said it was indeed heat rash. He is prone to heat rash so we would be out of a job if we continued to send him to this nursery as he would need constant picking up "straight away." We then sent the manager a detailed email about their illness policy and even sent the policy which GPs follow and guide early years settings. We also stated that we would be withdrawing my son due to the nursery policy being more rigid than the guidelines that his own GP recommends to early years settlings. However the manager did not bother to address any of our points and simply wrote that she will withdraw my son. I found this extremely rude! We were told that the policy would be reviewed in August 2022. However i doubt anything will change.
During the heatwave he was hot & caught a temp & we were told once again that we had to pick him up "straight away" & that he could not attend for 48 hours. By this point he was already leaving this setting so we didn't bother addressing the fact that it was the hottest day of the year. Also, the fact that the manager would most likely not address it. My baby is now happily settled in a new nursery.
