Mellington House

Little did I know when I chose Mellington House to stay at for a romantic few days away in Herefordshire what an absolute gem I was going to uncover. From the first moment we were welcomed in by Alison how wonderfully at home we were going to feel in their beautiful property. We were welcomed into the lounge for tea & biscuits & a friendly chat so we were totally relaxed before even before being shown to our accomodation. I believe they have come up with a wonderful combination of having a self catering sized accomodation with lounge, kitchen, shower room & romantic beamed loft bedroom looking straight out into the huge rear garden and still being served a delicious cooked breakfast in the main house, really fabulous! Our property was the "Coach House" but it isn't the only combination of choice for totally self catering or as b & b. The overall experience was enhanced even more once we also got to know Chris as well, both 5* hosts who both make you feel so welcome. There are no buts, the 3 nights were just idyllic, allowing us to sample eating in the village & a little further afield. Weobley is just one of the villages in the Black & White Village Trail around that area, but certainly a Jewel in the Crown, With 30 miles of paths from the doorstep we most certainly intend to have a return visit to enjoy more of the surrounding countryside & their super hospitality once again! Top Marks "Mellington House" loved it!!

Amazing stay, thank you. The hosts let my children feed their chickens. After no holidays or outdoor space for six months they were delighted. The hosts also put the heaters on in our rooms before we arrived, so it was warm and cosy when we arrived after a long journey. We loved everything about our stay and the kids loved the playground there. Sad, that the restaurant Jules wasn't open for take away but the take away from Ye Olde Salutation was delicious and they cooked off menu for my son who is fussy about food. We can't wait to come and stay in the Hayloft again. Thank you from Alex, Roger, Sophia and Matthew
