Friendly and welcoming but X3 times we've tried them each time got the impression we were being ripped off. This time we kept our receipts- 30% higher price than any other butcher for badly freezer burned topside. Jars sold at nearly double anywhere else in the country. No price tags should ring alarm bells and dont trust the meat coming from out back. A real shame as we would love to support our local businesses but not if they rip us off. Never again

First time in the shop. Bought stewing stake, pork chops, and sausage which were nice but I would say needed a bit more seasoning.

Coming from a butchery background I would be embarrassed to have that shop and serve meat of that poor quality. I payed 75 for topside, 3 thin sirloin steaks, 9 sausages and a whole small chicken; its cheaper in Hertfordshire and London from Artisan Butchers. The topside I asked to be fatted and was just a slab of fat put on and tied over the strings already used. It was tough, bland and tasteless yet cooked medium for 1hr. The sausages are like sawdust and the chicken smells like tuna - even my working dog refused to eat topside, sausages and steak. I was very embarrassed by the lack of the window display and that the lambs liver was sat in congealed blood and was black. Never again am I going there. I would highly recommend Battlefields 1403, Shrewsbury for meat as these guys know what they doing and are a lot cheaper with meat reared on farm or local! Not from a supplier based in Cheshire who is a international company buying meat from USA etc sold local meat.
