Thanks for ruining mother's day with the family, and the restaurant wasn't even full. Where to start, got seated, the server then left and took 10mins to come back for a drinks order, thankfully we ordered the food at the same time. Food took forever to come out, then the trouble really started. * 2 roast dinners, OK, but bland taste and a little over cooked * 3 smothered chicken. One ordered without cheese, we asked if they could put that on one of the others. The 1 normal one had the smallest amount of cheese, the 1 with the "extra" cheese only just covered the top. I think they need to look up the word "smothered" * 2 burgers, came with skinny chips that were lukewarm at best on one, cold on the other. 1 was sent back, when it eventually turned up again the burger had been cooked within an inch of it's life, black and hard. It was sent back, as the rest of the party had all but finished that family member decided not to eat ! * 3 sets onion rings, they were cold and I do mean cold below room temperature. When the bill arrived they had taken off the onion rings, and then stated they had taken off one of the burgers like they were doing us a favour. The burger was sent back and that person didn't eat. Made a complaint to the server who said they would have to ask their manager with such a poor service and terrible food I would have expected the manager to come and deal with it instead their response was just remove 10 off the bill. Terrible service, horrible food, way overpriced for what we had, worse of evening with the family completely ruined. I will never be returning

23rd April My friend had fish and chips she said the batter tasted weird/old and she felt sick with uoset timmy two hours later. I had ricotta pasta which was hard and not much filling , my other friend faired better with another pasta dish but her waffle was cold and hard ....I don't think we will be returning to this establishment - our poor waitress was run off her feet

Review of the pub bar at the Stanborough. Terrible, dated, worn out, depressing, all describe this terrible bar. Dirty floor, seating, tables. Wine glasses look like they are washed in a toilet bowl. Wipe your feet on the way out.

Excellent food and service from a professional team. No complaints and will definately come back
