I had a quote from Tinknells after my boiler broke down and was leaking. They came out the same day and the engineer was nice but without even opening the boiler he concluded the leak was from a bag inside the boiler. He knew my partner was away and it was just me and my 2 children and I had no idea about boilers. Anyway he had another man come out that afternoon to quote me for a boiler replacement as it was irreparable. The man came and the following Monday morning I received a huge 7,000 quote! I cried. We were going through a difficult family emergency and it had already left us in a difficult financial position, but I was convinced by the man that it needed replacing. My partner said it sounds too much and to get a second opinion. I found another engineer locally who came the next day. He was shocked they hadn't opened up the boiler. He did and found that the leak actually came from a corroded washer on a mains pipe behind the boiler! Not even from the boiler. The so called leaking bag was from a insulation bag that goes over a metal door. It was a complete lie to me. Anyway my boiler had a little faulty part that was replaced and the washer and that is it!!! They also quoted 5,000 in labour and it was possible to do in a day as the boiler replacement was only 2,000-3,000 which is unbelievable. As you are required to pay some money upfront to Tinknells I emailed them and asked for my money back. They agreed but the money didn't arrive after 5 working days. I had to contact them again to get my money. They said the accountant was away and I should have been told but I don't think that's good enough from a large company like that! Don't use them!

I phoned Tinknells to order heating oil on the 30th December after Watsons had let me down on their delivery. I wasnt expecting to get a delivery over the bank holiday but the lady at Tinknells was so kind and helpful, she phoned me back half an hour later with two delivery options one for the 31st December and another for the 3rd January. Thank you to Tinknells for a great customer service, 5 stars to you and nil stars to rubbish Watsons.

Such lovely helpful polite ladies on the phone deliver prompt and easy payment (cost is high but has come down not their fault)
