I started my Krav Maga journey 18 months ago, in Bridgwater, and did not know what to expect. What I found, was a group of amazing members, and an amazing instructor in Mark, plus also Liza in Wells. I then proceeded to frequent the Wells classes around 6 months later. Not only have the sessions educated me in true self defence, but they have had many other positive benefits, not just improving my fitness, but also drastically improving my mental health, stabilising my anxiety and depression, improving my day to day awareness and situational responces, and pushing my body to it's limit. I now regularly attend both the Bridgwater and the Wells classes, and have also attended Taunton, with all 3 groups being equally friendly and welcoming. I really cannot recommend even just trying a session enough.

Classes are for all ages and genders and taught in a friendly, supportive and professional environment. I come from a traditional martial arts background (Karate) where to start with there is a lot of emphasis on technical detail of technique; then you're supposed to learn how to use it in a practical manner. Unfortunately many traditional Eastern martial arts get stuck perfecting the technical side and/or the sport side and don't always cross that barrier into the practical street self-protection side. Krav Maga goes into the practical street defence side straight away and there is a lot of overlap with the movements of traditional Eastern martial arts. So I'd recommend to any traditional martial artists, who is keen making their art more practical, to have a go at Krav Maga too and take back some of the knowledge learnt into your main art.

I genuinely don't think you can find a better fitness club than Krav Maga. You will gain confidence and learn valuable yet simple self defence skills to protect yourself, and make friends with a brilliant bunch of people, all whilst improving your fitness level too. What more could you want! Krav Maga is such an inclusive club and Mark is a fantastic instructor, I'd really recommend giving the class a try.

Krav maga Wells is a great place to spend a Friday evening, it's high energy, good fun and a valuable life skill. Mark is a communicative and patient instructor, and the group will make you feel welcome no matter what your skill level is. I highly recommend.
