Excellent location for the town. We were a party of six adults and a 10 year old and 1 dog! We like an "en suite" as this cottage said it had one en suite - this is the reason we agreed to it. Well up on seeing it WOW (and not in a good way) Firstly yes we knew it was in the loft space - but getting to it is not for the faint hearted - up extremely steep narrow stairs- then to find "futon" like beds on floor -ok - that is do-able but it was this "Ensuite"- the bath (with shower at tap end) was squashed into the narrow end of the roof space if you get my drift ( you have to see it to understand fully our shock and disappointment ) There was NO way you could stand in this bath for a shower ever!!!!! and the loo had sink attached to the cistern somehow ( think it was the most compact loo/sink I've ever seen -and we've just done a motor home and its shower/Loo was much bigger!!) So this sent me into panic mode.(not being drama queen) There was no way i could A- manage stairs all the time too scary( Meant to say when you are up there -there is some bannister to stop you falling thru loft opening but where you have to get up its like one big hole - not nice at all) and B - cope with this "en suite. So after much discussion with our party my older sister/brother in law swapped with us. They not too happy with it, I felt bad because i ALWAYS insist on ensuite - and now don,t have one. Yes its family we are with but it still meant if you need loo in the night you now have to get dressed( Grovelling about in the dark looking for clothes ) Then because of said "ensuite " No one could use- so this meant all seven of us sharing one shower. Not good at all. Think this cottage is really meant for four and they are trying to sell as more accommodating . Parking Not good also. Not their fault- we knew this when we booked but living it is totally different . When you have to carry everything you need - backwards and forwards all the time. And now to the outside. This cottage backs onto a children's play park - ok again we knew this when we booked. But boy o boy - the noise levels- not so bad in the day as we where out and about - but at teatime you could see the youths/yobs congregating on the edge of this play park- and then the noise really kicked off till midnight/early hours. Nothing you could do.So do think very carefully about all of this before booking. Somethings their fault. Somethings not.
