Excellent stay in Captains Cottage over Christmas. Cottage is very homely and has everything you need to have an enjoyable stay. Good size garden for the dog and log burner helps keep the cottage lovely and warm. Good communication from owner and simple check in/out. Will defiantly be back.

Re Chancers Cottage. A disappointing stay, on arrival the cottage didnt feel welcoming maybe this was just a lack of small touches like flowers, the list of must dos to get the security deposit returned or the padlocked doors and cupboards. It soon revealed itself to be a little tarnished with black mould in the bathroom, dirty cutlery in the kitchen, a room that is dominated by 4 large dinning chairs making it a somewhat awkward room. Regarding the security deposit, it takes 2 weeks post stay to get returned not even a courteous email after departure confirming it would be forthcoming. For what it is its overpriced and not one to return to or recommend

We recently stayed at Captain's Cottage for a long weekend. The cottage is really decorated tastefully and is welcoming and well-equipped and spotlessly clean. Very peaceful location. Barry the owner was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction for some fishing places. We ate out at local pubs and the lovely tea room at Wells by the Sea. All in all a perfect weekend and we will return. Thank you very much.
