We've been here a few times for cake and coffee/tea, and it's been pretty good - definitely helped by a pleasant location and welcoming decor. However, breakfast today was a real let down. I'd waited patiently until 10am to eat breakfast, so I was disappointed when my halloumi with avocado and chilli jam on brioche arrived: it was really small, and was on a white floured roll rather than brioche. I asked about the substitution, and was told they didn't have any brioche. I feel that either the menu should have been updated or we should have been told when ordering that we'd get something different. The halloumi was warm but not what I'd call properly cooked (ie golden and slightly crisp on the outside). The floured roll would have benefited from being toasted on the cut sides. The whole thing was claggy to eat and was gone in a few meagre bites; it barely touched the sides. My son had a blueberry smoothie that was no different in texture from my orange juice. I am not clear, even after asking, what made it a smoothie rather than a juice. I'm sure we'll be back for a cake and a drink, but I'd hesitate before recommending anything more.
