Amanda and the team here provide a really great service. I knew I needed my prescription updated however I wanted to go somewhere local and friendly. We found Blink Opticians in Wellingborough. From start to finish the team there have been amazing. What's more amazing is that we literally saved a packet compared to going back to the high street chain we were going to. We were given lots of information on all the reasons why we needed the prescriptions that we did. In addition the team were super helpful in navigating the minefield of options when it comes to coatings, thinning etc. But not once did they try to sell us anything that they could not justify as being a good option for us. In fact, quite the opposite, they even went as far as to tell us that certain options were not in our interest for our particular application. In summary, an excellent diagnosis, excellent sales without being either high pressure nor over bearing. They fully conform to the old adage, a good job for a fair price. We are highly impressed with everything.

A lovely local opticians. Amanda (the optometrist) and her staff make you feel very welcome, and will happily explain various parts and factors of the eye test, as well as the products on display. Will definitely be going back for a regular eye test.

2022 MAY UPDATE .. READ BELOW. THANKS. 3 MORE NEW BEAUTIES! I bought three pairs you this month. All are super. I took ages to decide! Both ladies rock! I got stunning rimless half the price of well known opticians. So light and lovely. I've been with Blink for last three lots of new glasses, all I've loved. I strongly recommend the choice in there. I won't go anywhere else now. They are super kind ladies, with lot of patience, to 'get it right'. I'll be back next eye change. Blessings to you both Amanda and Carolyn. Bravo. Five stars for sure. 2022 May ... UPDATE/REVISIT Have just received my 2nd rimless, sunnies and readers from Blink. Another 3 new pairs...HAD to return. Couldn't cope with hard sell in SS in town (too pushy plus refused to reglaze). Stephen the very patient Dispenser has sooo much knowledge, more patient than me. Very helpful young man. Thanks! Really thorough local optician, great service and attention to detail in keeping customers safe during these strange times. After years of loyalty to another (not so local) optician, the pandemic prompted us to look for options closer to home. I did some research and decided to give Blink a try and have been really happy with the outcome. The eye examination was very thorough, with a full gamut of tests - including pressure & visual field tests - crucially important if you have elevated eye pressures (ocular hypertension), glaucoma, etc. When it came to choosing new frames, I was given great advice on the size/shape of frames that would best suit my prescription. Similarly, lens coatings and lens-thinning options were all explained brilliantly, with clear information on the cost implications. I was left to make an informed decision with no sales pressure whatsoever. So refreshing! The frames and lenses supplied by Blink are superb and were ready to collect in 7 days flat - plus got everything 100% right first time. I was so happy with the glasses, I had no hesitation in returning to order prescription sunglasses. Both of the ladies that I dealt with at Blink were warm, friendly and incredibly professional throughout. I highly recommend this small independent optician - they really deserve to thrive.
