97 pounds for a Sunday Roast, with uneatable roasted potatoes. Very disappointing. Dont waste your money.

Went to a wedding reception here. Food was superb. Staff were inexhaustibly and unfailingly friendly and fantastic. What a wonderful place.

This is a really fantastic venue, great throughout the week, but we enjoyed their famous Sunday Roast menu! It didn't disappoint. To begin we enjoyed the full range of snacks, which worked together beautifully. The ham, paired with the pickles on the carraway bread really got our taste buds going. The beef buns were a delight particularly with the horseradish cream. The starters (Trout and wild garlic soup) were tasty and well seasoned. The soup was a little on the large size but was enjoyed none the less. Then onto the famous roast!! We opted for the supplement option of roast sirloin for 2. The beef was cooked beautifully and seasoned nicely, the carrots, puree and onions added a much needed acidity to the dish. Unfortunately our roasties did lack that signature British crispiness and needed a good sprinkle of salt but a minor blemish on a very strong Sunday roast !! As for desert ... Brown butter and honey tart! Sublime! The thinnest of tart crusts, holds a wobbling light honey custard that ended the meal with a bang ! Good attentive service and a good wine list too !!
