Went to Rum Kitchen thinking this would have authentic good quality west Indian food, but we were so disappointed . The jerk pork and chicken was awful, a bitter burnt taste (forget jerk seasoning, more like over cooked burnt meat) the salt fish fritter was just as bad again bitter and no flavour, we had to send it back. I must say the drinks, service were 2nd to none. Management apologised and discounted our bill because of the standard of the food. Would not recommend the food...

Booked a table for 2 and turned up to an event that wasnt advertised and made to feel like we were in the wrong for booking a table. Sent to a filthy table and left for 30 minutes before somebody asked if we had ordered even though not given any menus. The food came and it was gross, dry rice and no warmth coming off the plate. The plantain tasted like perfume (other customers also attested to this). The service was just awful, the host was rude and wasnt ready to talk about the issues. One of the waiters genuinely seemed drunk and boasted about the unholy things they were doing downstairs when i tried to use the restroom. First time at one of the establishments and also a first time trying plantain so im so disappointed. My friend suggested this place as she has loved it before elsewhere and is so embarrassed by what we have witnessed. Im a vegan so had the plant based options, but they tasted like meat due to the cross contamination of the oil. I do not believe that they have kept the plant based food separate when cooking/deep frying. We could hear other customers complaining at near by tables, which reassured us it wasnt just us.
