Recruiting is tough, I get it, specially after a pandemic when many people lost their jobs and are probably flooding companies and recruiters with CVs. But this is an industry about people and talent, and if you don't treat talent well and with respect then you shouldn't be in the business. I had an initial call with one of their recruiters after a recommendation to reach out to them from a mutual LinkedIn connection and after seeing on LinkedIn that they were advertising a few roles in my field and level of experience. The call went well and it was followed by the recruiter sharing a JD with me to evaluate and respond to. I got back to them with some feedback and questions on the next day and then...nothing! There was no response. I followed up two weeks and then a month later again and nothing! I was ghosted. All the while this same recruiter was still very active on LinkedIn and continuing to ask people to contact them for a chat about all these roles they had, so it's not like something had happened to them. All in all, it was a poor experience and I recommend that this company review its practices to improve the level of service provided by their recruiters. Maybe it's become common practice among their peers, but ghosting a candidate is extremely disrespectful and should not be tolerated. Companies that do it should be called out. And to Red Sofa: some people may invest a lot of time and effort in their applications and conversations with your recruiters. The least you could do is respond to them after you ask them for something.
