        Decided to go for a few drinks and food at The Gate. The bar staff were really friendly. They said that the inside tables were all booked but we were able to sit in until the booked guest arrived. Food menu gave a great selection. We ordered a sharing platter and it was perfect. Plenty enough for two people. We will be back as the breakfast/brunch menu looks good

        Good customer service and garden looks good for summer but food let it down, particularly as wifes bday. Ribs the one good dish, kids burger was frozen variety, Caesar salad was miserable looking. My wife said her fish main was so so. Shame as we drove from St Albans based on good reviews. I should add the pizzas and burgers looked excellent . Maybe we were unlucky. Pints not cheap at 5.80
