I dropped the car off the day before and first thing the next day they had already started the MOT on it. They called me advising what needed to be done. The customer service was just brilliant, very friendly and they had my car done and dusted on the same day. Looked new when I got it and sounded so much better. I will be staying with this garage now. Definitely in safe hands. I would recommend them.

They failed it, and quoted me, in writing, at least 621 Pounds to get it through the MOT.
A few days later I took the car, unchanged and unused since its failure by S and B, to another garage, for a second full MOT test as a second opinion - and it passed.
See the attached screenshot of the MOT record, which is freely available online for anyone to see, and you can clearly see the reports from both garages.
You will clearly see that all of the serious faults that S and B Motors had listed as expensive failures were either not even mentioned or were considered no more than minor advisories by the other garage, who I wont name, but they are an established and reputable local company of similar size to S and B Motors.
S and B Motors also quoted me, in writing, 98 Pounds, inc VAT, diagnostic fee just to remove a dozen bolts on the undertray to investigate an oil leak - a minor drip which the other garage did not consider excessive enough to fail, see the MOT report attached, but which S and B Motors insisted on failing the car on. S and B Motors also told me that the cars under trays would also probably need to be replaced due to oil damage.
As part of the second MOT the other garage removed the under tray at no cost, and found that there was no oil leak, it was just a residual spillage from a previous service. They also cleaned the under tray, again at no cost.
Like I said, those are the facts, backed up by written evidence. Draw your own conclusions.
Edit - in response to the reply from S and B Motors below (posted 6 months after my review...). I have now sold this car, and the buyer had it professionally inspected before purchase. The inspector was aware of the MOT issues above, and made the comment that the suspension bushes were not worn anywhere near enough to fail an MOT, and in his opinion S and B Motors were simply trying it on. Also the oil leak had completely stopped soon after the MOT fiasco. These are the facts, draw your own conclusions
