As a last attempt to get my Mum home from hospital, I was asked to prepare a room for a temporary live in carer, I don't live with my Mum and having agreed, I realised what an enormous jobs it was but pulling in every favour new bed, I finally made a lovely spotless room for this carer.and a woman came to inspect, The house was bring deep cleaned, and if you you have 80 odd years of stuff, it's a juggling act to clean ,moving things from room to room but I'm a retired Nurse I have a method for cleaning pulling everything out sorting cleaning and putting away, the cats were locked in Mums room as the dog was down stairs, property was in boxes ready to be loaded to go home again) as the I delayed going home to.prepare the house. I explained everything to her and assured her that it would be sorted by the morning, and she smiled and said she'd pop into to see Mum in hospital. The next thing that happens is that I get a distressed call from my Mum, a Nurse had come and told her she couldn't go home because the house was too much of a mess. A better way to deal with this would have been to tell me she wasn't happy and delay discharge rather than embarrassing my poor Mum , second hand. The house ,btw was spotless ready for her return, instead she left my Mum miserable, didn't communicate anything to me. The upshot my Mum is refusing to have anything to do with the agency mening she is likely to have to go to.residential care. I said the place would be spotless and it was, the appalling communication skills of the individual, tact, diplomacy, assertiveness, definitely needs some improvement and if she can't do her job, put her behind a desk where she can't do so much damage.
