- After a bullying incident at school my daughter needed a confidence boost. I also wanted her to have something that isn't on an electronic device to focus on (ipad phone). I also wanted to bond with her more with a common interest. From day one my daughter absolutely loved the lessons. This is partly down to the martial art itself, but majoritevly down to Andy, Tyler and their team of instructurs. They recognise that its all anout learning through fun and this reflects in all the smiles I see on the kids faces. They will bring out the best your child!. Now when I get home we both practice with a kick pad and are bonding in a major way.
- As for myself. I'm generaly someone who struggles with sociol interaction and have a hard time "fitting in". After making a call to Andy (this took 3 days to work the courage up) we had a good chat about our goals and reasons for starting. I went to the thursday class on my own.
I couldn't have been made to feel anymore welcome. Not only are Andy and Tyler engaging they also encourage positivity and a healthy atmosphere. No brovado no BS just everyone enjoying ourselves. You will always leave with a smile on your face and laughing.
It's physicaly challenging at times but not extreme. It does wonders for your mental health and is the highlight if my week. The stretches we are taught have also helped with my flexibility and posture.
There is so many great reasons to take it up, hand on heart I cannot think of any negatives.
So to sum up. Regardless of your age, size, gender, mental state, fitness level etc etc, give the 2 free classes a go. you wont regret it.
Me and my daughter have never been closer. I've never been happier generaly and it's all down to Bluewave (Washington) Taekwando.
