Shop was open from 8am to 7pm when we were there, and sells basic provisions. Site is dog-friendly, must be kept on lead which is fine by us. 5-minute walk to the shore of Wastwater, and a great starting point for walking up the local fells - we did Great Gable.
Only negative for us was that the spot we picked had incredibly rocky ground that made it a little tricky to pitch the tent - although pitches are not specified so you can remedy this by just moving to a different spot if needed!
Would definitely stay again!
